About us
At Red Bud Veterinary Service, we have a team of two very experienced veterinarians as well as an amazing group of compassionate, dedicated and knowledgeable team members. Most of the staff here have been working with animals their entire life. Caring for animals is who we are and there is nothing that we love more than helping your pets.
Dr. Ryan Jacob: Dr. Jacob started at Red Bud Veterinary Service on January 1, 2019. He previously worked as a veterinarian for 11+ years at two other veterinary clinics in the area, most recently Horseshoe Lake Animal Hospital in Collinsville, IL. He was also the veterinarian for Madison County Animal Care and Control while working at Horseshoe Lake Animal Hospital. Dr. Jacob is a native of Belleville, IL and is very familiar with the Red Bud community, as he has family within town and the surrounding areas. He is a graduate of St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine and finished his clinical rotations at University of Missouri School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Dr. Jacob enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but takes special interest in orthopedic surgery, dentistry, dermatology and internal medicine. He has taken courses to be certified as a "Fear Free Veterinarian" to make visits for your pet less stressful. He is co-owner of the clinic, along with Dr. Shannon Melliere, of Waterloo, IL. Dr. Jacob shares his home with his wife, Michelle and son, Max. They have 2 dogs, Remington (Great Dane) and Gus (Boxer). In his free time, Dr. Jacob enjoys anything outdoors (fishing, camping, boating), keeping up with the Cardinals/Blues and just spending quality time with his family.
